IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree is medium-sized, with a harmonious wide-spreading crown and good branching. The variety is characterized by early bearing, stable yield, and self-fertility. The variety was obtained as a result of open pollination of the variety «SWEETHEART» and genetically belongs to the S3S4' sterility group.
Fruits are large, reaching 27–30 mm in diameter, have a heart shape and a dark burgundy, almost black color with a shine. The flesh is very firm and juicy, the taste is harmonious, spicy-aromatic, with a high sugar content. The fruits have low susceptibility to cracking and are suitable for long-term storage.
The variety is very late, the fruits ripen approximately three weeks later than the variety «Regina». The susceptibility of the tree to bacterial canker is comparable to the maternal variety. It is recommended to avoid areas with a high risk of frost, cold climates, and excessive precipitation.
