The tree has medium vigor, late bud burst in spring, and forms pendulous fruit-bearing branches. The variety is self-incompatible (group 3, sterility S3S4) and requires cross-pollinating varieties for regular fruit set. Trees are noted for reliable and regular yields.
Fruits are large, reaching 28–32 mm in diameter and a mass of 12–14 g; they have a heart shape and a dark red, almost black, shiny skin. The flesh is very firm and juicy, possesses a spicy-aromatic taste with a sugar content of 17–19° Brix. The variety is characterized by low to medium sensitivity to cracking and good keeping quality in storage.
