Morellona is an ancient local variety originating from the Tuscany region. The variety is included in regional germplasm bank collections, has an established S-genotype S6S13, and is considered a valuable subject for genetic research in scientific literature.

The fruits of the variety are distinguished by the intense color of the skin and flesh. The chemical composition is characterized by an exceptionally high content of anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins, as well as ursolic and oleanolic acids. Specific agrotechnical characteristics of the variety are not described in open scientific literature.
