The variety is characterized as productive; the fruits have an obtuse-heart shape, light coloration with a red tint, and juicy, tender flesh. Historically, the fruits were intended for fresh consumption and canning.

In scientific publications, the variety is actively used to study genetic diversity, in particular for S-allele typing (genotype S1S3). Low susceptibility of the plant to diseases is noted. In literature, the variety is classified as white, distinguishing it from the Ohio Beauty Ironside variety.
