The variety is an ancient local landrace from the Lake Ohrid region in North Macedonia. It is characterized by a later start of the vegetation period: flowering begins around April 24, and fruit harvesting occurs on June 24.

Genetic studies have identified a unique S-genotype S4S40 in the variety, which allows it to be used as a universal pollinator. The fruits are distinguished by high antioxidant activity, in particular, an increased content of anthocyanins and total phenols compared to many other varieties.

The plant demonstrates high adaptability to high temperatures during the flowering period, maintaining ovule viability. At the moment, the variety is considered rare and is regarded as a valuable genetic resource for breeding.
