Variety description

10 August 2026

The Piret tree is characterized by its semi-dwarf growth habit and forms a compact, rounded crown. The fruits are heart-shaped, have a dark red glossy skin, and juicy, soft flesh of the same shade. The berry size is medium or smaller than average, and the stone separates easily from the flesh. The fruit taste is rated as sweet and sour.

The variety possesses good winter hardiness and resistance to diseases. Piret is a self-incompatible variety; for effective pollination, the varieties Meelika, Leningradi must, and Polli rubiin are recommended. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption as well as for processing, including freezing and the preparation of compotes.
