ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree is medium-sized, reaches a height of 3–5 meters, and forms a compact round-pyramidal crown. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and late flowering, which allows it to avoid the impact of spring frosts. The onset of fruiting occurs in the 3rd–4th year after planting.
The fruits are large, weighing from 8 to 15 g, heart-shaped. The skin color is dark red, almost black when fully ripe; the flesh is firm and juicy. The variety is self-incompatible; other sweet cherry varieties are required for pollination. The harvest ripens in late July – early August; the fruits are resistant to rots and cracking.
