The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and the formation of a tall, powerful crown. It prefers not overly heavy, well-drained and fertile soils, and can grow in dry areas.

Fruits ripen in late June to early July. They are large, weighing 3–8 g, rounded in shape, slightly flattened at the peduncle. The skin is dark burgundy, shiny, and firm. The flesh is dark red, juicy, sweet-and-sour in taste with a pronounced aroma. The fruits are suitable for mechanized harvesting due to their 'dry detachment'.

The variety is self-infertile. It is sensitive to Monilinia, but shows tolerance to the Prunus necrotic ringspot virus. Historical propagation by root suckers has led to the appearance of numerous clones, among which 'Pándy 48', 'Pándy 279' and 'Pándy Bb. 119' are distinguished.
