The plum variety «Duke of Edinbourgh», known in Lithuanian literature as «Edinburginė», is classified as one of the most vigorous among the tested varieties when grown on cherry plum rootstock. Detailed data on the maturity group, disease resistance, as well as qualitative characteristics of the fruits are absent in open scientific publications.
This variety is maintained by the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry and is used in breeding programs to evaluate productivity and tree growth dynamics under Lithuanian climatic conditions. Information on the origin of the variety and its parental forms is not presented in the sources.
