The Ingannaladro variety, also known as Gabbaladro, is a local ecotype of the Apulia region. The variety name translates to "deceive the thief," as the fruits are misleading in their appearance, remaining visually similar to unripe fruit at the moment they are fully ready for harvest.
The fruits of this variety are small, weighing on average 30–40 g, and have an obovate shape with a rounded tip. The skin is smooth, golden-yellow in color, and covered with a waxy bloom. The flesh has a yellow-green hue and is distinguished by its aroma.
