The variety was developed at the Institute of Horticulture in Dobele as part of a breeding program led by P. Upitis. The plant belongs to diploid plums adapted to the conditions of the region.
The fruits of this variety are characterized as small. According to variety testing methodologies, the glands on the leaves of this plum are located exclusively at the base of the leaf. The variety is recognized as suitable for cultivation in the climate of Central Europe due to its productivity.
