The variety is the result of folk selection and represents a part of the biological diversity of eastern Croatia. The fruits are characterized by a violet-blue skin color.
The main economic purpose of the variety is for processing, primarily for the preparation of slivovitz. Currently, work is underway on the certification and conservation of this genetic resource.
Detailed agronomic characteristics of the variety in open scientific publications are presented in a limited volume, as the plant is classified as an ancient local variety.
