The variety is a deciduous tree or shrub 5–7 meters in height with a funnel-shaped crown and strong branches. Young leaves are green, later acquiring a characteristic dark purple or brownish-red hue that persists throughout the summer. Flowering occurs in April with solitary creamy white flowers.
The fruits are large, rounded, and dark red in color, ripening in August–September and suitable for consumption. The plant is self-fertile and possesses winter hardiness (zone 5a, down to -35 °C), drought tolerance, and high adaptability. The variety has a dual purpose, being widely used both in ornamental landscape design and as a fruit-bearing plant.
