The Topval variety is a hybrid bred within the framework of breeding programs for improving the genetic diversity of fruit crops. Key priorities during its creation were the improvement of fruit commercial qualities, including size, skin color, flesh firmness, as well as the optimization of sugar content and acidity level.
The plant possesses genetic resistance to Plum pox virus (PPV). The variety is suitable for commercial cultivation due to the combination of good yield and resistance to pathogens, and is also frequently used as valuable genetic material in breeding work.
