The medium-sized tree has moderate vigor and an upright habit, producing the crop primarily on spurs. The variety is self-fertile and requires approximately 350–450 chilling hours, blooming simultaneously with or shortly after the Nonpareil variety.
Fruit ripening in Central California conditions occurs between August 15 and 25. The nuts are oval or elliptical in shape, have a weight of about 1.6 g, and a paper shell. The kernels are light-colored, sweet, with a double kernel percentage of less than 15 percent.
The variety demonstrates increased resistance to the fungal disease Rhizopus stolonifer. The tight and well-sealed suture of the fruit provides protection against a number of pests, which reduces the need for intensive chemical treatment.
