The tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of 3–4 meters, and possesses a spreading or pyramidal compact crown. The fruits are large, weighing 100–150 g, and have a rounded, flattened shape. The skin is dark purple, almost black, and covered with a glaucous waxy bloom.
The flesh is firm, juicy, dark red, and sweet in taste. The variety is self-incompatible and requires the planting of pollinators such as Shiro, Santa Rosa, Pioneer, African Rose, Amber Diamond, or Black Amber. It exhibits frost resistance down to -25 °C and high productivity; it requires control of bacterial canker.
