The REDROY variety is not self-fertile. In agronomic literature, it is known as an effective pollinizer for such Japanese plum varieties as Santa Rosa, Laroda, Friar, and Redheart. The bloom periods of the variety are close to the bloom periods of the Santa Rosa variety.

The variety is included in official commercial plum variety standards, which confirms its suitability for retail. Detailed morphological characteristics of the tree and data on disease resistance in open publications are practically absent.
