The variety is of folk origin and was found in the Kapel-Avezaath area. Trees are characterized by moderate to vigorous growth; when using vigorous rootstocks, the height reaches 7–9 meters. The plant can be grown in various standard forms and is considered undemanding and have low susceptibility to diseases.
Fruits are large, yellow-green in color, and are suitable for both fresh consumption and stewing. The variety is not self-pollinating, therefore it requires the presence of a pollinator tree for fruiting.
