Trees of the variety reach large sizes and are characterized by alternate bearing, producing an abundant harvest approximately once every two years. The variety is early-maturing, with the fruit ripening period occurring at the end of August.

The fruits of the variety are relatively small in size and green in color. Due to the short consumption period after ripening, they must be consumed or processed in a short time.

Bocketer Grüne is a traditional local variety common in the southern part of the Heinsberg district. The main purpose of the fruits is processing, in particular the preparation of pear jam or Birnenkraut syrup.
