Variety description

10 August 2026

The Bloedpeer pear variety is distinguished by fruits with red flesh that ripen in August. When grown as a half-standard, the tree reaches a height of 5–7 meters. The taste qualities of the fruit are characterized as sweet and juicy.

The plant is self-incompatible and requires cross-pollination by other varieties, such as Williams or Doyenné du Comice. The variety belongs to the European pear group and is traditionally cultivated in Western European regions as a rare variety for garden cultivation.
