Pyrus communis L. European pear · Fruit crops

Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree is distinguished by moderate growth and thin weeping branches, which is why the variety is recommended to be trained in bush form. Flowering occurs in mid-late or late periods; the variety requires mandatory cross-pollination with other pear varieties.

Fruits are large or very large, calebasse or bottle-shaped, often irregular. The surface is covered with brown russeting, masking the primary fruit color. The flesh is yellowish-white, juicy, with a pronounced aroma. The variety is mid-late, and fruits are ready for consumption in October.

The variety possesses high yield and good tree health. The key drawback is very poor keeping quality of the fruits, which quickly become soft after ripening. Currently, it is grown primarily in collection orchards as a rare genetic resource.
