Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree is characterized as vigorous, hardy, and highly productive. The fruits are large and green in color, sometimes with a blush. The variety is demanding regarding soil depth and moisture; in drought-prone areas, fruit quality declines and the flesh becomes corky. It is cultivated at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1200 meters.

The fruits are suitable for culinary processing, although they may also be consumed fresh. The variety can serve as an interstock when using quince as the primary rootstock. It has many synonyms, including Curé, Pastoren, Spadona d'Inverno, and Bottiglia.
