CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The tree is vigorous, lives up to 100 years, and forms a dense broad-pyramidal crown 4–6 meters high. The variety enters bearing 4–5 years after planting, requires cross-pollination, and is compatible with quince as a rootstock.
Fruits are large, weighing 170–250 g, and are elongated-pear-shaped or ovoid. The firm skin changes color from green to pale yellow upon ripening. The white fine-grained flesh is characterized by juiciness and a sweet-and-sour taste with slight astringency.
The variety is classified as late-autumn or early-winter; the fruits are suitable for long-term storage until January-February. The plant possesses good drought tolerance, moderate resistance to scab, and is undemanding regarding soil composition, although it is demanding in terms of heat requirements.
