Variety description

10 August 2026

The name often refers to the variety Decana d’Inverno, which is late-maturing and ripens around October 15. This historical variety is known in scientific literature as a difficult object for in vitro propagation due to problems with phenolic oxidation.

There is also a type of the Pera Cocomerina variety — «Cocomerina d’inverno», whose tree is characterized by vigorous upright growth. The fruits of this type are small or medium with a weight of 65–110 grams, have a rounded shape and a characteristic pink or red flesh, which is why they are used mainly for processing.
