The Daygon rootstock, also known as Farold® 40, is used for the cultivation of commercial pear varieties, contributing to their high productivity and the formation of good-sized fruit. Plants grafted onto this rootstock are characterized by high vigor.

It is characterized by resistance to fire blight and good tolerance to high lime content in the soil. The rootstock is not recommended for use on heavy or waterlogged soils prone to water stagnation.
