The Daytor rootstock is characterized by a growth vigor that is 15–25% lower than that of pear seedlings. Trees on this rootstock are distinguished by a strong root system, produce practically no root suckers, and possess high adaptability to different soil types.
The plant possesses resistance to fire blight and tolerance to pear phytoplasma disease. Use of this rootstock promotes earlier entry of grafted trees into fruiting and ensures stable yields with good compatibility with both European and Asian pear varieties.
