This rootstock was obtained during breeding work to create clones providing high resistance to specific pear diseases. It is aimed at improving compatibility with the scion and effective control of tree vigor in commercial plantings.
Clones of this series are characterized by good anchorage and the ability to adapt to various soil types. Dayre is used exclusively as a rootstock and is not a fruit-bearing pear variety.
