The variety is the result of breeding work with the parental forms Butirra Hardy and Passe Crassane. It is used as a genetic resource in breeding programs, including for the study of S-allele profiles and variety compatibility.

The variety is characterized by a very late fruit maturity group. Scientific research notes the presence of a certain degree of resistance or tolerance of this variety to fire blight caused by Erwinia amylovora.
