The variety is a hybrid obtained from crossing the forms «Elliot № 4» and «Vermont Beauty». The tree is vigorous, with an upright crown and a narrow branch crotch angle. Due to thin fruit stalks, premature fruit drop is possible in windy weather.
The fruits are pear-shaped, with yellow skin with russeting and a blush. The flesh is tender, buttery, with a low content of stone cells and a high sugar level. The fruits are characterized by a long storage life in refrigerated conditions, reaching 3–4 months.
The variety has marked tolerance to fire blight. In a number of European countries, it is known under the trade name «Selena».
