The Fox9 rootstock belongs to the semi-dwarfing plant type. It possesses high adaptability to difficult soil conditions, including soils with high pH levels and calcareous soils, and also demonstrates satisfactory tolerance to clay soils.
The use of this rootstock promotes early entry of trees into the fruiting period, the production of uniform crops, and reliable anchorage of plants in the soil due to a developed root system. Fox9 is compatible with main pear varieties such as Abate Fétel, Conference, and William.
The plant is intended for the establishment of orchards with medium and medium-high planting density from 1800 to 2400 trees per hectare. In agronomic studies, the rootstock is characterized as hardy, although in individual trials it showed variability in morphological characteristics of the seedlings.
