The variety was developed as a hybrid of Bartlett and Barseck varieties at a research station in Canada. The tree is vigorous, strong-growing, with an upright crown, possesses high productivity and is well-suited for training as an espalier.

The fruits resemble the Bartlett variety in shape, have smooth skin that turns yellow upon ripening. The flesh is creamy, buttery and juicy. The tree is prone to crop overload, therefore requires fruit thinning to prevent biennial bearing.

The variety possesses high resistance to fire blight and a certain resistance to scab, suitable for cultivation in USDA zones 4–8. Fruits hold well on the tree and are not prone to mass dropping.
