The variety was developed as part of the breeding program of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada at the Harrow Research Station. The primary objective of breeding this variety was to create plants possessing resistance to infection by fire blight (Erwinia amylovora).
The variety possesses good to excellent resistance to natural infection by fire blight, similar to other members of the Harrow series. Detailed data on tree morphology and fruit ripening periods in open publications are limited, as the variety appears primarily in specialized reviews of breeding work.
