Junkersbirne, also known by the names Remele, Remelin, Münchner Wasserbirne, or Schwäbische Wasserbirne, is an early variety. The consumer maturity of the medium-sized fruits occurs at the end of August.

A distinctive morphological feature of the fruit is a very short fruit stalk that transitions directly into the fruit. The flesh of the variety is tender and melting, which makes it suitable both for fresh consumption and for drying or culinary processing.

The variety is characterized as very hardy and robust. Due to its undemanding nature, it is traditionally used for cultivation in extensive orchards and is an important element of landscape planting, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity.
