The variety is the result of folk selection and is historically distributed in the provinces of Udine and Gorizia. Trees are characterized by weak vigor, the variety is practically self-sterile, and fruiting occurs predominantly on spurs.
Fruits are small to medium in size, weighing about 121 g, have a flattened-spherical shape, and ripen in mid-August. The skin is thin and smooth, yellowish in color with a blush on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is yellowish-white, melting, and sweet. The stalk is short and fleshy, with the fruit visually extending into it.
The variety belongs to traditional and hardy types. It is used primarily as a table variety for local consumption, representing value as an object of preservation of the region's pomological heritage.
