The Pero Rosso group varieties are summer varieties, with a ripening period occurring in the second ten-day period of August. The fruits have thin russeting near the stalk and a dark red blush on the sun-exposed side. The stalk is medium-sized and can be straight or slightly curved.
The fruit flesh is whitish, of medium density and juiciness, with inclusions of stone cells. The taste is moderately sweet, balanced by medium acidity. The seeds are small, dark brown in color, and oval-elongated in shape. The varieties of this group are folk varieties and do not have a single breeding origin.
