Trees of the variety are weak to medium-growing with a wide-pyramidal, leafy crown, which is often asymmetrical. The variety belongs to the late-summer group; fruit ripening occurs in mid- to late August.

The fruits have a classic pear shape. At harvest, they are greenish, and during the ripening process, they acquire a golden-yellow color. The flesh is creamy white, very juicy, tender, and buttery. The variety is susceptible to fire blight, pear psylla and aphid infestation, as well as spring frosts, and possesses insufficient winter hardiness.

The variety is a benchmark dessert product for fresh consumption. It is also highly valued in processing for the production of juices, compotes, marmalades, dried fruits and is the main raw material for the manufacture of fruit distillates.
