ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN

The variety is of English origin and dates back to the end of the 18th century. When ripe, the fruit skin turns yellow. The flesh is sweet, tender, juicy, with a slight acidity. The variety is characterized by high sensitivity to storage conditions.
The use of the fruits is universal: they are suitable for fresh consumption, making juices and fruit salads. The variety is popular in industrial processing, in particular, for the manufacture of an alcoholic beverage known as "Viljamovka". In regions where brandy is produced, the practice of growing fruits inside bottles attached to the branches is common.
