The Virgolese tree has medium vigor and forms an upright crown. The plant's fruits are distinguished by their small size and apple-like shape.

The variety belongs to the early-flowering group, demonstrating the ability for early flower bud development when temperatures rise. Genetically, the variety is classified by S-alleles PcS101/PcS103 and, according to SSR-profiling results, may be a synonym for the Pergolesi variety.
