CH 201
ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear
EST. PRODUCTIVO DE DANILO CHRISTEN
10 August 2026
The variety is an old local landrace, the fruits of which are not consumed fresh due to their hardness and astringency. They are intended for baking, poaching in wine, and preservation, during which the flesh becomes sweet and aromatic. Harvesting is carried out from the end of October to the middle of November; the fruits can be stored until spring.
The tree is characterized by high viability, a strong root system, and adaptability to poor, rocky soils, thanks to which the variety has been used as rootstock. The fruits are small or medium-small, round or pear-shaped, have thick skin with russeting, and granular flesh.
