ActivePyrus communis L. · European pear

The Virgouleuse variety, known since the 17th century, is characterized by an upright growth habit, high tree vigor, and abundant yields. The fruits are medium to large in size, with yellow-green skin and a blush, and have melting, juicy, sweet flesh with a musky aroma.
The name Virgule is not a varietal name and often arises due to confusion with descriptions of curved fruit shapes in old pomological literature or due to references to the oyster shell scale (Lepidosaphes ulmi), which infests fruit trees.
