The Lungo di Napoli variety, also known as Lungo sardo, is a vigorous plant with lobed light green leaves. Its roots reach 15–18 cm in length and have a cylindrical or cylindrical-conical shape with a rounded shoulder and a pointed tip.
The root skin is smooth, without lateral roots, bright red in color with a white tip. The flesh is firm and crunchy. The variety is intended for open field cultivation and is characterized by resistance to bolting.
