The variety is a compact shrub 20–40 cm in height with dark green evergreen foliage, which may acquire a reddish tint in winter. The flowers are large, 3–5 cm in diameter, semi-double, and pink in color.
The plant belongs to the indoor azalea group and is cultivated primarily as a potted crop for interior landscaping. The variety flowers in the period from January to May. The plant requires acidic soils, moderate humidity, and diffused lighting, and shows susceptibility to the greenhouse spider mite.
