The Rhodunter 48 variety is a hybrid of Rhododendron fortunei ssp. fortunei and R. Cunningham’s White. The plant is a broad, rounded, dense evergreen shrub with a height and width of 0.8 to 1.5 m.

Flowering occurs in May-June. The flowers are white and possess a pronounced fragrance. The variety is characterized by vigorous growth, tolerates pruning well, and is distinguished by high tolerance to various soil types, including calcareous and heavy clay soils with a pH level up to 7.
