The rootstock was developed as part of the German INKARHO program, aimed at creating calcium-tolerant plants. The primary purpose of this hybrid is its use as a rootstock onto which other cultivated rhododendron varieties are grafted to improve their establishment and growth in unsuitable soil conditions.
The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and high lime tolerance, which is untypical for most members of the genus that prefer acidic soils. This is a technical rootstock that ensures the survival of varieties frequently used in the INKARHO Dufthecke series.
