Variety description

The shrub has an upright, rounded crown shape and grows vigorously. At maturity, the plant reaches 120–180 cm in height with a similar width. The leaves are leathery, dark green, with a possible acquisition of a copper or bronze shade in the autumn-winter period.
The flowers are funnel-shaped, large, up to 7.5 cm in diameter, with wavy petal edges. They are collected in spherical inflorescences of 12–16 pieces. The color of the flowers is bright purple; there is a white spot with dark burgundy speckles on the throat. Flowering occurs in mid-to-late spring.
The variety possesses winter hardiness corresponding to USDA zone 5 and withstands temperatures down to -29 °C. The plant is characterized by the ability to root woody cuttings and resistance of the foliage to diseases. It is used as a specimen plant, in group and foundation plantings, or for creating borders.
