The plant is a compact, wide-spreading shrub reaching 1.5–2 meters in height. The leaves are dark green, leathery, and elliptical in shape. The flowers are creamy-yellow, sometimes with a salmon tint and a darker pattern on the upper petal; the petal edges have a wavy shape.
The variety prefers partial shade or shade, wind-protected areas, as well as acidic, humus-rich, and well-drained soils. It does not tolerate alkaline environments or waterlogging. Winter hardiness varies from moderate to high; in severe climatic conditions, covering is required.
