The plant belongs to the Rhododendron yakushimanum hybrids. The leaves are large, leathery, shiny, and dark green. Funnel-shaped flowers are collected in dense rounded inflorescences of 14–17 pieces.
Flowering occurs in May to early June. The variety prefers partial shade, areas protected from wind, and acidic soils with good drainage. Winter hardiness is up to -20 °C.
Used in landscape design for group plantings, arranging compositions with dwarf conifers, and placement among stones.
