The variety is a dense upright shrub with dark green matte leathery foliage. 10 years after planting, the plant reaches a height of about 1.2 m. The flowers have a neon-red hue and are gathered in large spherical inflorescences at the tips of the shoots; the edges of the petals can be slightly wavy.
Flowering occurs in May. The variety possesses high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -28°C, and is resistant to diseases. It prefers semi-shaded locations protected from wind, and acidic, moderately moist humus soils. It is used in group plantings, heather gardens, and container cultivation.
