The plant belongs to the species Rhododendron simsii and is known as indoor or Ghent azalea. The variety is an evergreen shrub of compact form, reaching a height of 25–40 cm. The foliage is dark green and retains its decorative properties throughout the year.
The flowers have a double form and a light pink shade, their diameter is 3–5 cm. The flowering period is mid-season and lasts from mid-December to April; under favorable conditions, the flowers persist for up to 6 weeks.
The plant is not frost-hardy and is intended exclusively for interior use at a temperature of 15–22°C. The variety is characterized as healthy and stably flowering when standard maintenance conditions are met, such as the absence of drafts and the use of soft water.
