The variety is a dense shrub that typically reaches 1–1.5 m in height with a width of 2–2.5 m. A characteristic feature is the narrow lanceolate leaves, the young shoots of which are covered with silvery-white felt pubescence.
Dark pink bell-shaped flowers with a diameter of 5–6 cm are gathered in inflorescences of 11–17 pieces. Flowering occurs from mid-May to early June. The plant withstands temperature drops down to -24°C, corresponding to hardiness zone 5b.
The shrub requires loose, humus-rich, acidic, and well-drained soils; it is sensitive to moisture stagnation. The variety is used as a solitary plant, in group plantings, decorative compositions, and for container cultivation.
